Privacy policy
This translation is provided to make reading easier. Only the French version is authoritative: if there is any difference, the French version applies.
This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.
1. Data controller
Controller: Bastien Laffargue EI (sole trader)
E-mail: contact@calcul-solaire.fr
Address: 17 rue de la Joliette, 13002 Marseille, France
2. Data collected
2.1. Simulation data
When you use our simulator, we collect:
- Location: Address, GPS coordinates (for the weather calculations)
- Electricity consumption: annual kWh, consumption profile
- Hourly consumption curve, if you upload your Linky export: the file itself is not kept; only an annual hourly profile is derived from it, for your simulation
- Desired setup: Power, orientation, tilt
- Technical data: Simulation results, charts
2.2. Browsing data
- IP address
- Browser type and operating system
- Pages visited and duration
- Source of the visit (search engine, direct link, etc.)
2.3. Cookies
- Essential cookies: User session, preferences (mandatory)
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics (optional, with your consent)
- Messaging / chat cookies: Brevo Conversations (optional, with your consent)
2.4. Professional account (Pro area)
Professionals who create an account in the Pro area give us:
- Business name: to identify the client company and personalise the reports
- E-mail address: to create and verify the account, simulation-completed notifications, and subscription information (due date, failed payment)
- Telephone number: support and verification that the account is a professional one in case of doubt. It is not used for any prospecting purpose and is not passed on to anyone
- Password: stored only as a cryptographic hash (Django's hashing algorithm), never in clear text and never readable by us
- Billing data: processed by Stripe (see article 7). No banking data passes through or is stored on our servers
Legal basis: performance of the contract (this data is necessary to provide the service subscribed to).
2.5. End-client data entered by a professional
When a professional enters the data of one of their own clients in the tool (address, consumption, characteristics of the home), it is the professional who determines the purpose of that processing and is answerable for it, as provided in article 12.1 of our terms of sale (CGV). We process this data only to carry out the calculations requested and produce the reports, on their instructions, and never use it for our own account, resell it or solicit the people concerned.
3. Purpose of the processing
We use your data to:
- Carry out the solar simulations (legal basis: performance of the service)
- Generate the PDF reports (legal basis: performance of the service)
- Analyse how the site is used (legal basis: consent)
- Contact you again if you ask us to (legal basis: consent)
- Create and manage a professional account, verify its e-mail address and secure access (legal basis: performance of the contract)
- Manage the subscription, payments and billing (legal basis: performance of the contract and legal obligation)
- Support the professional and, where necessary, verify that the account is a professional one (legal basis: legitimate interest)
4. Retention period
| Type of data | Duration |
|---|---|
| Households' simulations (address, consumption, results, report) | Deleted at the latest 24 h after your last visit to your results |
| Uploaded consumption curve (Linky export) | Erased with the simulation: at the latest 24 h after your last visit |
| Report sharing link (if you create one) | 30 days, after which the link stops working and the frozen report is deleted |
| Server logs | 6 months maximum |
| Analytics cookies | 13 months |
| Professional account (business name, e-mail, telephone) | Lifetime of the account, then 12 months after it is closed |
| Files and reports created from a professional account | Kept as long as the account exists, including after the end of the trial or cancellation, and deleted at the professional's request |
| Invoices and accounting records | 10 years (legal retention requirement) |
A professional can ask at any time for their account and the associated files to be deleted by writing to contact@calcul-solaire.fr. Only the accounting records are then kept, under the legal obligation.
5. Your rights (GDPR)

Right to erasure

6. Security
- HTTPS connection (SSL/TLS encryption)
- Secure hosting (servers in the EU: Hetzner, Germany)
- Restricted access to the data
- Regular backups
7. Sharing of data
We never sell your data to third parties.
We share your data only with:
- Our host: Hetzner Online GmbH (necessary for the service to work)
- Payment and billing: Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, only for professional subscriptions. Stripe collects the payment data and issues the invoices; no banking data passes through our servers or is stored on them
- Sending e-mails: Brevo (Sendinblue SAS), a French company, with data hosted in the EU. Used for service e-mails: address verification, password reset, simulation completed, subscription information
- Analytics services: Google Analytics (anonymised, with your consent)
- Online chat: Brevo Conversations (only if you use the chat, with your consent)
This list is exhaustive. In particular, for a simulation run on calcul-solaire.fr, no household's contact details are passed on to an installer and no contact is resold.
Simulator built into an installer's site. Some installers offer our simulator on their own site. If you use it and ask to be contacted, your contact details are passed on to that installer, with your explicit agreement collected through a tick box. The collection is then carried out on their behalf: they are responsible for that processing, and calcul-solaire.fr acts as their processor.
8. Complaints
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (the French data protection authority):
